Clos du Nord

The Clos is a walled hectare on the coldest corner of the hill, and it ripens last every year — sometimes weeks after everything else. That slow finish is the whole point: it keeps the perfume and the acidity that warmer corners lose.

Aged in large old barrels that give air but no oak flavour, so nothing stands between you and the parcel. Violets, red cherry, wet stone; tannin like fine wire. It is the most precise wine we make and, in the exceptional years, the one we are proudest of.
